The aim of this course is to introduce students to the world of transport, so that they are able to identify their real transport needs, deal with them separately, and once this has been achieved, know how to address the right companies in this changing market in order to solve their perspectives. They must be able to handle the legislation and know the basic principles of the contractual relationship between carrier and shipper, the basic documents necessary to perfect the contract, as well as the requirements to be met by transport companies.

DESCRIPTION

The aim of this course is to introduce students to the world of transport, so that they are able to identify their real transport needs, deal with them separately, and once this has been achieved, know how to address the right companies in this changing market in order to solve their perspectives. They must be able to handle the legislation and know the basic principles of the contractual relationship between carrier and shipper, the basic documents necessary to perfect the contract, as well as the requirements to be met by transport companies. They will learn the law from the point of view of the carrier, to have a business empathy and be prepared if they decide to make an integration, or on the contrary subcontracting. Will make a classification of transport costs, knowing how to quantitatively identify fixed and variable costs, as well as hidden costs so important in transport, in order to minimise them by applying different techniques that will be shown. Finally, it will be updated on the evolution of the market in all its sub-sectors, dominant companies, strengths and weaknesses of each one, in order to have judgment tools and clear elements for a negotiation

But we also know that, at present, the process of internationalisation of organisations continues to grow. This makes it necessary for companies to be able to count on professionals who know and manage the particularities of International Logistics. For this reason, this course also aims to give an overview of the relevant value of efficient cost management, documentary and operational procedures, which can ensure a high degree of success or failure during the development of the economic activity of any company in an international environment. If we want to master this subject, we have to study in depth technical, commercial and documentary aspects of the different means of transport that take place in the international environment.
